Our treasure map

Just thought I should show you a map over where we hang around to do the snorkeling. And the first who will do the same routes after us will find a little treasure buried in the sand or under the rocks where every cross is on the map :)

Snorkeling pics

Today we did some awesome snorkeling! We swam trough 2 bays and along the way a big group of little fishes followed us for a long time and nibbled on our toes. Here's some of the pics we took:

Exploring the island

We're went for a little walk today to find a good snorkeling spot and a nice beach. 40 minutes of hardcore walking in hills so steep and full of loose grit and after that some rock climbing, it was the most exhausting I've ever done in my life. But we did find an awesome bay for snorkeling. It was sooo nice just floating around in the warm water relaxing your body after that power walk and so cool to see all the fishes and underwater life.

I'm gonna buy a case for my camera so I can take pics under water and capture it all. Because tomorrow we're gonna go all the way back. Puh* if we're doing this everyday I'm gonna be super fit in no time!

We're in paradise

After 8 hours on a bus, 4 hours waiting at the harbor and 3 hours on a ferry we finally reached beautiful Koh Tao. We checked in, in a cut little hut made out of bamboo and empty glass bottles with our own balcony and nice view.

We bought some snorkeling gears so now it's beach, sun and underwater adventures everyday! Or we wish. So far the sun haven't honored us with his presents but the water is still crystal clear and very warm! It give us time to explore the island and find the perfect beach and snorkeling spots so I'm not complaining.

this is the view from our room but we're gonna change to a better one tomorrow

Chatuchak weekend market

Today we went to like the biggest market I've seen. Every weekend they build up round about 1500 stands were you can buy everything from fake Ray Bans, iPod cases to live chickens. For me it was just overwhelming so I barely bought anything. The most interesting part was the animal section. Heaps of kittens, puppies, fishes, birds, lizards, you name it! You could get a hedgehog for $10 or a tiny monkey for $1000! so crazy. But also so heartbreaking to see all these animals in these small cages. It wasn't allowed to take pictures at most of the animals so I only have a few.

Grand palace

We went to the Grand Palace today. One of the things you have to see in Bangkok obviously. It was really cool tho, the details of the palace is amazing or "dazzling" like it says in the guide.

I read before that you have to wear like long pants and cover your shoulders in the palace so I took a t-shirt and a pair of leggings, that should do it I thought. Oh man was I wrong. I was refused entry to the palace because you're not allowed to wear tight pants, GREAT embarrassment to the max! So I had to go across the street and rent a Thai skirt and problem was solved.

Vodka red bull and pool

The other night we decided to just chill and have a few beers in a bar close to our guesthouse. It was very relaxing and we played some backgammon. Of course we started to play for drinks to make it more interesting so a few beers ended up to be I don't know how many vodka red bulls. And then this little Dutch fella Max came along (he was like 11) and wanted to play some pool for money, it was only for like $1 so we agreed to play with him. And he was pretty good so he always won and made it double or nothing. Then his mum came along but she was really cool and we had some interesting conversations.

The evening ended when Malli finally won and Max started sulking in a corner. His mum didn't care, she just said he has to learn that you lose sometimes. At this point I was so pissed anyway so it was time to call it for the night. We grabbed some street food on our way back and the whole night and day after I was vomiting all over the place. Good times!

Fear and Loathing in Bangkok

Ok, here I am, back to new adventures and backpacker land. First stop is Bangkok; Loud, hot and smelly. And I love it. Even tho both me and Malli are white as ghosts and it screams TOURIST on our foreheads, it's awesome to get away from the western lifestyle to feed our gypsy genes with new culture, faces and experiences.

Tonight we're going to have a shopping spree at KhaoSan Road. It's THE place to be and shop as a backpacker. Usually I avoid these kind of places but I just have to suck it up and allow my self to be seen as a backpacker, since it's very hard to get away with it anyway with blue eyes and blondish hair. You just can't win. I just hope for a tan soon so I don't look like a complete newbie in Thailand.

I'm gonna update as much as possible with pics and so on. It just depends on the internet availability.
